Four Hands Dining: Chef Tom Kitchin Joins Atul Kochhar
Four Hands Dining: Chef Tom Kitchin Joins Atul KochharJoin us for an extraordinary Four Hands dining experience as celebrated Scottish chef Tom Kitchin brings his Michelin-starred expertise to Kanishka, uniting with Chef Atul Kochhar’s vibrant Pan-Indian flavours.
An Exclusive Michelin-Starred Collaboration in Mayfair
One of Scotland’s leading culinary talents, Tom Kitchin is the Chef Proprietor of The Kitchin on Edinburgh’s Leith waterfront. The restaurant was awarded a Michelin star in 2007, just six months after opening, making Tom the youngest Michelin-starred chef proprietor in Scotland at the age of 29. The Kitchin has proudly retained its star ever since and became Scotland’s only restaurant to receive 5 AA Rosettes in 2015. Tom and his wife Michaela’s portfolio now extends across Edinburgh and East Lothian, including the acclaimed gastropub The Scran & Scallie, The Bonnie Badger in Gullane, and the neighbourhood restaurant KORA by Tom Kitchin. We are honoured to welcome his remarkable expertise to our dining room.
A Masterclass in Flavour and Culinary Heritage
Before opening his flagship restaurant, Tom honed his craft in some of the world’s most prestigious kitchens. His impressive background encompasses early training at the Gleneagles Hotel, followed by formative stints working alongside Pierre Koffmann at the three-Michelin-starred La Tante Claire in London, Guy Savoy at his eponymous three-star restaurant in Paris, and Alain Ducasse at the renowned Le Louis XV in Monte Carlo.
Tom’s ongoing success is deeply rooted in his genuine love for the finest seasonal Scottish ingredients and his renowned ‘From Nature to Plate’ philosophy. For this exclusive Four Hands event, his produce-driven approach will harmonise beautifully with Chef Atul Kochhar’s dedication to showcasing the rich, authentic spices of India’s unexplored sister states.
A Celebrated Figure in British Gastronomy
In addition to his distinguished restaurant work, Tom has authored four successful cookbooks and is a familiar face on British television. He has appeared on BBC’s Saturday Kitchen, BBC Two’s Remarkable Places to Eat, and Men in Kilts. Furthermore, he regularly joins the UK’s most revered culinary figures as a judge on the MasterChef Final Chef’s Table. We are thrilled to unite his profound influence on Scottish food culture with our Pan-Indian fine dining experience for a truly spectacular evening.
