Sunday Supper Club – Lillian Luk
Lillian runs Shanghai Supper Club, a pop-up dinner party and occasional takeaway services based in Marylebone, London. The primary focus of the supper club is to share and promote the lesser known and appreciated food from Shanghai where Lillian was from originally.
Her food is an ode to her grandmother’s home cooking as well as the ubiquitous snack foods found on the streets of Shanghai. Lillian has been featured in the NatGeo documentary, Gok’s Chinese Takeaway, Chanel 4’s Sunday Brunch and various other food and art-related projects. Most recently, she participated in a TV cooking competition series which will air on Amazon Prime UK in Q1 2024.
Sunday Supper Club – Crystelle Pereira
Crystelle Pereira is a 28-year old quick-witted cook, baker and cookbook author from London. Born in North London to Kenyan born, Portuguese-Goan parents, Crystelle loves sharing recipes inspired by her heritage but also from her travels around the world. She stole the hearts of the nation in The Great British Bake Off where she reached the final (Channel 4 and Netflix USA, 2021).
‘Flavour Kitchen’ (Hachette) is Crystelle’s debut cookbook, published in May 2023. Crystelle’s TV career has seen her host live recipe creations on Good Morning America, The Today Show, ITV’s Lorraine and BBC One, and she is most recently known as the Series Judge on The World Cook on Amazon Prime, alongside chef Atul Kochhar.
Crystelle speaks four languages and spent the past few years working in a top finance firm.
Sunday Supper Club – Chetna Makan
Chetna Makan was born in Jabalpur in Central India. She has a degree in fashion and worked in Mumbai as a fashion designer before moving to the UK in 2004.
Chetna was part of The Great British Bake Off in 2014 and since then has written 7 cookbooks. They range from baking, Indian street food, healthy Indian food, vegetarian and quick Indian. She also has a very popular YouTube channel ‘Food with Chetna’ where she shares her creative flair for all things cooking and baking.
Sunday Supper Club – Sabrina Gidda
Sabrina Gidda’s early career began in Fashion PR & Marketing – before realising that her passion was in food and cooking. Having had no formal training, she began as a stagier at The Dorchester hotel, ran two successful gastro pubs before taking over The Sanctuary Spa Covent Garden. She then ran kitchens in numerous firms in The City as Executive Chef. Her eclectic journey to the kitchen was driven by dedication to her craft, unbounding ambition and the desire to work with food.
She twice competed in the prestigious Roux Scholarship competition in 2014/15, to the final 6 contestants nationally on both occasions – the only woman on both occasions.
She went on to open Bernardi’s Restaurant in Marylebone and was instrumental in their culinary accolades. It was here that Tatler Magazine awarded her ‘Rising Star’ in 2016 for her inventive, unrestricted approach to Italian cookery. Bernardi’s was mentioned in both Michelin Guide’s during her tenure, along as being noted as one of the best Italian Restaurant’s in London by both Conde Nast & Square Meal.
Throughout her journey Sabrina has regularly been asked to combine her love of writing and cooking – to contribute recipes to numerous magazines. Her approachable and innovative style of cooking – makes her recipes easy to follow, and most enjoyable to eat. Over the years Sabrina has contributed to various editorial publications along with appearing as a judge on Masterchef, and herself competing in Great British Menu – earning 10/10 on her fish dish from acclaimed Chef’s Paul Ainsworth and Daniel Clifford.
Sabrina was Executive Chef of AllBright – a women’s members club based in London & Los Angeles. Her work at the club has been instrumental in raising the profile of the clubs hospitality offer – along with partnerships with BMW, Belu Water, Tiffany, Water Aid and Women for Women.
She continues to champion women in food, drink and hospitality – with her own consultancy – with clients including Hoxton, Ennismore, Open House Group.Her eclectic, global approach to cooking and ability to creatively land food concepts for those who seek her expertise. She is currently consulting on a collection of new and exciting projects in London and Europe, most recently opening the New Hoxton Lloyd in Amsterdam. Her debut book Modern South Asian Kitchen was published in March 2023.
